Post-IMC Workshop on asexually reproducing fungi
(hyphomycetes and coelomycetes)
Venue: Mushroom Research Centre, Chiang Mai, Thailand
When: 9th – 14th August 2014 (after IMC-10)
Organizer: Dr. D.J. Bhat, formerly at Goa University, India.
This workshop will bring together some of the world leaders in asexual fungi (hyphomycetous & coelomycetous fungi) to work together on forays and study the asexual fungi around the Mushroom Research Centre in Chiang Mai. Non-specialists and students should also attend as they can learn from the experts.
The workshop will include:
- Field excursions to collect specimens
- Examination of specimens in laboratory
- “Hands-on” techniques for study of hyphomycetous and coelomycetous fungi
- Some lectures and offered talks on asexual fungi
In addition, a visit to: Doi Suthep temple, Chiang Mai Zoo, and/or Mae Sa Elephant camp will be provided.
Accommodation and all food provided by MRC (except when in the field).
Full workshop fee – 25,000 Baht (800 USD). Price includes airport pickup, accommodation (shared room), food, collecting trips and laboratory use.
